Our Team

Nadia Sawaya-Gauckler

Founding Principal
 

Nadia Sawaya-Gauckler is a consultant with over 20 years of experience in the development and implementation of strategic interventions across national and international organizations. Nadia’s areas of expertise include diversity, inclusion and health equity, and the creation and leadership of award-winning, best in class initiatives. By focusing on increased employee engagement and improved patient experience, she strives to help organizations excel by building diverse and inclusive environments that can meet the needs of patients and clients. She is strong promoter of quality, safety, and culturally competent patient-centered care.  Nadia works with both organizations and the community to build and promote intercultural programs that foster cultural awareness and understanding.

 

In addition to holding a Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of South Dakota, Nadia is the 2005 recipient of the Johns Hopkins University Diversity Award and has received certification in Intercultural Foundations.

Mary Jo Vercillo

Managing Consultant
 

Mary-Jo is a healthcare consultant with over 25 years of diverse management experience in highly competitive and complex environments. She has overseen the introduction and implementation of Lean healthcare systems, process improvement strategies, and system design initiatives for numerous healthcare organizations. Mary-Jo’s consulting experience includes business development, operational analysis, strategy development, and creating quality and patient-safe cultures. She has been instrumental in developing innovative programs to improve the patient experience and health equity in all aspects of day-to-day hospital operations.

Mary-Jo holds a Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Baruch College, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York and is a fellow at the American College of Health Care Executives.

Ash K. Buonasera

Senior Consultant
 

Ash is a human resource leader who specializes in strategic and analytic approaches to human capital, helping businesses to transform programs traditionally viewed as cost burdens into valuable levers used to improve business performance. His expertise in the areas of managing and analyzing workforce metrics ensures that the investments made in people are done with rigor, discipline, and an understanding of the intended business impact.  Ash supports organizations in the development of frameworks to manage human capital assets in a disciplined and structured way through the utilization of talent analytics and management, strategy consulting, human capital reporting, and program evaluation. 

 

Ash holds a Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology from the University of Kansas and a Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Baruch College, City University of New York.
